Momentum Habit Tracker - Routines, Goals & Rituals App Reviews
App is worth it
It really helps me to not only maintain, but keep track of my habits.
This app is a great idea. Before, I was doing something very similar in a spreadsheet. I’m on the $4.99 paid version that syncs with iPhone. Unfortunately, the Mac version crashes everytime I use it on the latest version of El Capitan. This happens especially when I’m trying to add notes. Basically, I have to use the phone version for everything. Of course, that defeats the purpose of upgrading. I noticed this app hasn’t been updated since November. Please fix this.
This app helps me keep track of my good habits in a highly visible way. Because the tracking is so visible, being good becomes its own reward and motivator. I can set a reminder to look in the morning, and I can set different reminders for when I want to do different things during the day, and once I do them it’s super-easy to check off and I can get an at-a-glance idea of how I’m doing and what I still want to get done that day to keep up my good streak. It syncs easily and well across all my devices, and it’s easy to add and modify habits. I find it easy to run from the menu bar when I’m not using it on my phone. Really no complaints.
Helpful Habit Forming
If you’re trying to learn a new habit, this is the application for you!
Like many great apps, Momentum proves its worth only in use. You may think that such a simple app can’t address the complexities involved with habit formation, but it is precisely this simplicity that makes it so effective. I think this is because Momentum does away with the subtle psychological resistance many of us encounter when attempting to consistently record our progress. So take a tumble on Momentum—it’s probably the best $4.99 investment you’ll make all year.
Really helps me to track my habits and implement new ones. Highly recommend. The only thing I concern about — sync is not working as smoothly and seamleassly as expected.
Best habit tracker I’ve tried
This is easy to use, the display is helpful, and support is excellent. Get it!
I love that you can see your progress on each task for the past week at a glance! And clicking on the habit shows the last month(s). The OS X application currently has two bugs: 1) it will not remember where you’ve set the divider between the progress and titles. I have normal-length titles, but they get truncated in the default size. 2) opening and closing more than once from the menu bar causes a crash. I would like to have the ability to group the habits, instead of having to see all of them at once. - Same thing on the iPhone. Maybe a tabbed interface?
This app does exactly what I’d expect it to, nothing more and nothing less. I did pay for the full app through the in-app purchase, and now use it on my Mac, iPhone, and Apple Watch. The full suite’s exceptional quality makes this app one that I keep on my homescreen/dock, checking off goals for the day, everyday.
I want to get refund.
Yesterday, I bought this app. But I still can’t upgrade. I want to get refund.
rather than only green or gray, introduce different shades of green or different colors to illustrate more time spent on a habit. EXAMPLE = (green - 1 hr/good) (blue - 2hr/great) (purple - 3hr/excellent) and make it available as a widget for the notification center.
I can get this app to crash every single time I use it, sometimes multiple times. I’m trying to add a list of habits. After five crashes (not exaggerating) I had to come here to leave a review. What the heck is happening!? Am I the only person experiencing this? I love the look and simplicity of the app, but it’s so unstable that it makes me question whether I’m an idiot for using it.
I really like the simplicity of this app. One thing I would like is to change the sound and also to be able to see what day of the week each day was. (Maybe with hover) Thanks! — I just upgraded and non I can’t track todays actions.
Great example of an app that really adds a lot for a premium mode at a good price. Synchronization alone is worth it, plus adding all kinds of habits. Would like to see a day-of-the-week list underneath the calendar and easier-to-find settings, but otherwise an awesome app.
I have a few small gripes, but the core value of this application is in its simplicity, and is fulfilled. Here are my gripes, just in case it’s helpful: - Weekly targets really doesn’t do much, would love for my days to get checked off if i don’t need to do something. Could use different shades of green for days you actually do something, and days that are subsequently taken care of. - Sync is a little buggy. If I reorder my habits on my phone, the organization just gets synced over from my mac. The whole system of using little passwords in the UI for syncing over iCloud just feels a little awkward. - Would love some easy programmable interface for accessing my habit data. Exporting to CSV is okay, but I would love for it to be automatic. I was thiking about taking some of this data to push to a public page, to feel like i was holding myself more accountable. I don’t want to manually export a csv every time I update my blog. But, great little app. Might be a good fit for a server side service instead of iCloud. Thanks for the great little app :)
I loved the app so much the first day I upgraded to the Premium Version (Totally worth the $5 for the added features of synching between Apple devices) but, sadly, synching didn’t happen. After trying some things on my own I finally wrote for help. Mathias responded within 24 hours with a detailed list of things to try. This morning, things are synching perfectly. Thank you, Mathias for an awesome product and stepping in when the bugs hit. Keep up the great work!
great app!
Solid app. Love how there is icloud support, so you can track your progress across multiple Mac devices!
