Remove Dock Icon

It would be super helpful to just have the menu bar icon and not the dock icon.

This app is super helpful for tracking daily habits. It is simple, easy to use, easy to edit, and easy to update. It syncs across devices, no problem. Using this app, not only helps me make sure I am doing things, it also helps me do them. When I look at my list, I start off in the morning with meditation, then go to exercise, then go to teeth brushing, etc. Throughout the day, when I am thinking about what to do, instead of wasting a bunch of time floating, I hope someone reading this knows what I mean, I look at my list and I am like, yes, now I will do that. A couple of things I would like to see. One is incremental options, so if I want to brush twice daily, allow for an option of click once for the first brush, click twice for the second brush, and done. This would be like the day, month, and week goals, which I love, but with a certain number of times to get the thing done during the day. Another thing that does not work as I would like is Apple Watch sync. In order for the app to sync, or even to see the data on Apple Watch, the device must be able to communicate with my iPhone. I would prefer if the entries on Apple Watch be kept separately, to be synced at a later time, with preference given to the most recent entry on either device.

Much appreciated. Simple and keeps me on track with my goals. Would like ability to shuffle habits around, but even that’s feasible on the current app setup with a little extra fiddling on my part. Would also prefer Ravenclaw colors over Slytherin, but that’s just picky.

I’ve been using the app on my iphone and my macbook pro for about a week and am so far very pleased. It’s easy to use and provides a nice interface for tracking progress toward some routines I’d like to develop. I haven’t used the export functionality yet, but I’m looking forward to doing that after I’ve amassed a little more data.

Free version can only handle 3 habits meaning if you would like to keep track of anything else, you have to pay $4.99. Mind you, Coach.me, which is available for iOS does nearly everything this app does except it cannot be synced between all devices because it lacks a OS X app, which may end up being a huge drawback for some people. If you don’t mind paying the $4.99 this app is perfect for you, it has great funcitonality and design. That being said, so do most app dedicated to this sort of thing. If you don’t really care about the app being synced between devices and having it on OS X, look elsewhere. There are plenty of great and free alternatives to this app.

Beyond just being able to add more than 3 habits, what do you get with Premium, neither your website nor the App’s description indicates that information…. Also, I would want the ability to export the data to PDF/Excel for use outside the app in conjunction with other data. Hope to see improvements in that aspect before purchasing the premium capability.

Very usful app, i used to have other app on my iphone, but the ability to have the same app on my mac as well is great. Only I wish if I can an option to have the apps icon ONLY on the menu bar NOT on on the dock (like winderlist app for example). and have the App launched automatically at startup and run in the background. Thanks for the app.

I downloaded this app because I read about the Seinfeld Strategy a while ago and always meant to do something about it. And then voila, this super-helpful app appeared! Not only does the app look gorgeous, the developer was incredibly helpful & responsive when I reached out to him for assistance. Highly recommended!

After paying $4.99 (which really isn’t such a big deal considering it covers premium features across all my devices), I was disappointed to discover that one of their listed features, the ability to run Momentum in the menu bar only, is missing. I’m running their latest version 1.2, but it isn’t there. I’ll be happy to update my rating once this is fixed, but for now, it irks me to not get what was described.

Useful and simple

A friend told me I should try this app to keep track on my stuff. It works very nice and it is very simple to use but I miss some features.

I LOVE that there is a Mac companion to the iOS app (and the fact that purchasing the Mac app gives you the iOS app, too). It’s quite easy to use, but a couple things have made me switch back to Way of Life. 1) I have week-long goals I like to achieve, and the view on the Mac app (and on the iOS app) doesn’t have a convenient week view. So I can’t see easily how I’m doing on all my goals this week. 2) You can’t differentiate between “not checked off yet” and “failure.” So, if I look at yesterday, I can’t tell if I failed everything or just didn’t mark thinigs as complete. 3) It doesn’t show the DAY of the week, just the date. So, if you know it’s Tuesday but not the date, it’s hard to log. 4) There are no grapsh in the app. You can export to CSV, but in the app, you can’t see trends. So, maybe I’ll come back to this when it gets built out more. For now, those three items make this not perfect for me.

I’ve tried pretty much every tracker out there and this is the single best solution I’ve found. What I love about it is the visual presentation is clear and it seamlessly syncs between my desktop and iOS devices.

I love this app (purchased it) because it’s so simple you will actually use it. However, they do need to continue to hone in on the UI. For example, you can add notes but the only way to see them again is to edit them. It would be nice to hover over the dot on a square to get the notes. Once you enter the items you’re tracking you can’t move them around. So for example I struggle to keep from staying up working through the night, so I literally break apart items like getting to bed by a certain time from actually going to sleep. After I can do both I may collapse it to one. Anyway, it could be useful to group them together; would be nice to be able to drag them around. Lastly, fix the crashes and I’m ready to make this 5 stars. I too have been unable to keep the icon in the menu bar, but not the dock. The other issue, it’s pretty major, is that the date doesn’t change/update when I open the app each morning. It seems to take hours for the program to catch up to the current day. This pretty much renders the app useless to me as it is morning habits that I am working on. Getting the day started right. If I can’t check off the things I am doing as soon as they are done it is not very helpful. Plus, I find myself constantly going back to my computer to see if the calendar has updated yet so I can move on. TIME WASTER!

Lovely but

I’d like to be able to hide the dock icon.

Ok, it is very beautiful and original! No doubt… so they charg 5 dollars for this great idea in this really superficial and simple app. But, come on!! For 5 dollars at least give me the possibility to reorder the habits and group them maybe.

This is a good app - definitely worth the $5 I paid for the full version. Straightforward and clean, it provides me with a visual way of checking over my habits (I track about 10 every day). I’m a person with some significant ADHD symptoms, and I have always found it hard to be consistent when I want to start something. Momentum has definitely helped. It has a “reminder” function, which is extremely useful. I used to try to track my habits on excel/numbers spreadsheets, but I would always forget to fill it in on days when I was thinking about my habits. Momentum reminds me to check in, so even when I forget to do a habit, I at least have to think about it at the end of the day. I have two small complaints, and one wish. First, for some reason, sometimes the app doesn’t always allow me to edit the current day’s habits. Often, I have to quit the app and restart it in order to put a “check mark” in the boxes for the current day. Restarting always fixes the problem, and it only takes a few seconds, but it is a slightly annoying inconvenience. Second, the reminder is not accompanied with any sounds - just a notification that pops up in the top corner of the screen. A gentle noise would help get my attention. Finally, the app only lets me see about 11 days in the window. For all practical purposes, this is more than enough. However, I have started to wish that I could see a different, broader view that would let me see my progress over longer periods of time.

Quite simple, can be improved

for example, it can offer further analysis of tracking progresses

Chrisis-HZY · 10 years ago

I upgraded to the pro package. -iCloud Sync doesn’t work between my home and work mac. I tried all possible combinations. -Every day I need to quit and restart the app, to change the date. Otherwise the app still thinks it’s yesterday. -Developer is unresponsive, I have tried following up thrice this month, but no response. Beautifully designed, powerful and simple idea, but buggy product and unresponsive developer.
