love this app!

I’ve used a lot of apps like this, but I love that this app syncs between my phone and Mac.

While a helpful tool it has some issues that concern me. There are no instructions or help of any kind, at the time I first used it, as to setup and use, so it took me a while to figure out how to use it. I generally dislike products that require a subscruption fee to use all the features, particularlly those that have auto-renewal. Such products are like a leach on my finances and seek to remove me from controlling what I spend on things. Instead if their is a subscription involved, I prefer to be notified when due in a timely fashion so I can then evaluate the products usefulness and make the decision as to if I want to renew. That way I am in full control. Of course the marketing talk is that they want to make life easier for the user so they do not have the bother of renewal. But the real reasion is to keep a flowing stream of the users money and hope they will forget about the fact they are continuing to pay for the product forever. It is not about convenience; It’s about making money for the developer, and as much as they can. I have heard of people dying and still payijg for such a product yearly while they are 6 feet under!

I can get this app to crash every single time I use it, sometimes multiple times. I’m trying to add a list of habits. After five crashes (not exaggerating) I had to come here to leave a review. What the heck is happening!? Am I the only person experiencing this? I love the look and simplicity of the app, but it’s so unstable that it makes me question whether I’m an idiot for using it. UPDATE: It’s been months since I wrote the review above. After seeing consistent updates to the app (a good sign), I decided to give it another go. Let me throw this out there before I say anymore: I am a heavy user of habit tracking apps, and I WANT this app to be my habit tracker. It’s so beautiful, and it’s on all the right platforms. I want this to work. Lo and behold, the Mac app wont even launch for me. I’ve tried deleting it and reinstalling it. Nothing. This app is an utter joke. The good news is that it broke the moment I tried to use it, and didn’t break after months of investment. Get it together.

Great on iPhone but Won’t sync with my Mac over iCloud

Would be 5 stars if it would sync properly but it won’t. Everytime I try to saw I have the upgrade previously purchased on my iphone it won’t sync

Much appreciated. Simple and keeps me on track with my goals. Would like ability to shuffle habits around, but even that’s feasible on the current app setup with a little extra fiddling on my part. Would also prefer Ravenclaw colors over Slytherin, but that’s just picky. Update - If you’ve only got a few goals to keep track of, shuffling habits around in the current setup is doable, if clunky. I’ve added a few more since then, and would really appreciate that ability in a future update. Nevertheless, still a good app.

Always Crashes

every time I try to open the app it crashes, then I have to relunch it and this loop repeats many times every day.

Only 3 stars because of a BUG!

It wont let me click the box to enter a completion of a habit. I have the premium version. I can only do it on my phone.

Cant give more than a star review to an app that wont even launch. Click the link above for "support" and youll see that there is no support for this bug filled app. I dont know if this is an intentional scam or just incompetence but at a certain point the difference is negligible. Seek out alternatives friends.

This year I did not want my new year’s resolutions to end up on the scrap heap of good intentions. I went looking for an app that would let me create specific goals and track them daily. This app does that brilliantly. At a glance I can see how my day and week are going. Knowing they are written down, and knowing there’s a place to record my progress daily, keeps those goals in the forefront of my mind. I constantly feel like I am doing the most important things I can be doing. I also wanted an app I could track on both my Mac and my iPhone, and Momentum does that too. It’s attractive but not fancy or obtrusive. If you’re trying to change how you lead your life, let Momentum help you.

This is an overall simplistic application. I really like the ease and the ability to set or edit my own goals. I love the fact that it works well with my iPhone and my Watch.

Needs Improvement / Not Working as Advertised

Run in background not working for me in El Capitan. Annoying to have in task bar. Can’t drag and drop habits in program window.

The application has suddenly stopped syncing with my iPhone. Changes I make in the OSX app will show up in the iOS app, but changes from the iOS app do not appear in the OSX app. Very frustrating.

I use this app everyday and love it

This app allows me to track my longer term aspriations. I find the UI superior to the competition. What’s more, it doesn’t try to do too much.

Great, simple app.

But: I can’t see whether its “AM” or “PM” in the reminder time setting for a task

Excellent app. Visually pleasing and satisfying. I use OmniFocus for recurring tasks, but I delegated the personal habit management to this handy app. The best tool for the job.

This app is beautifully simple, straightforward, and effective. I don’t have to do any complicated set-up or elaborate list-making that usually gives me a reason to lapse. I especially like having a window in the Apple menu bar so I can keep track and keep going. Best app for habit-forming I’ve found.

LOVE the simplicity, and the audio/visual reinforcement. nice. features needed: a) in OSX version, need to see MTWTFSS day symbols below the green checkerboard, not just day numbers. Most useful when filing in a few days history at once. It looks like this is already implemented on iOS. c) ability to annotate each check mark with a simple comment, like 1024 text chars or something, which would display in a popup upon “hover and hold”. just reminders of HOW I accomplished that task that day, and any relevant details. b) the three “zoom / close / min” OSX boxes appear right on top of checkboxes in the OSX version. Which is a little visually distrubing. I think a “fade in / fade out” titlebar would be better. Love it. Keep up the good work. G

I’ve tried several “habit tracking” tools in the past, and this is by far the best. It has just the right amount of options without being such a pain that you’re disinclined to use it. That said, a couple of small updates would wildly improve the experience. As others have said, having different colors for each habit woud make this much more user-friendly. Heck, even if they used different shades of green it would be an improvement. As it is now, it’s difficult to get a quick glance at your progress for the week. You know how you do overall on your habits if you see green, but I’d love to also see what I’m doing great at (waking up early) and what I’m not so good at (excercise) at a glance instead of having to carefully follow the horizontal line to the right to determine which habit is which line. Also, listing days of the week would be huge. I can’t be the only one who sometimes enters my habits retroactively. Lastly, the inability to reorganize the order of habits (preferably via drag and drop) is unacceptable for those of us that paid $4.99 for the premium version.
